About ME!
Nijat Mahamaliyev is an architect and researcher working at the intersection of computational design, robotics, and living materials. He holds a Master of Advanced Studies in Architecture and Digital Fabrication from ETH Zurich and a Bachelor of Architecture from Istanbul Technical University.
At ETH Zurich, he worked in the Digital Building Technologies group and Design++, focusing on bio-design, robotic fabrication, and immersive reality. He developed 3D bioprinting methods with biomaterials and contributed to a living material project selected for the 2025 Venice Biennale of Architecture. As operational lead of the Immersive Design Laboratory, he created interactive platforms combining spatial applications, acoustics, and visualization, led workshops on immersive environments, and developed XR applications for cultural heritage.
